my name is Zachary Stewart-Glazer, and I'm the proprietor of Illuminated Code. I've been hand-coding websites since 2003, after I rediscovered a love for programming when a friend asked me to start maintaining the website of her nonprofit organization.

As a nerdy 10-year old, I went to "computer camp", where I spent my time studying the BASIC programming language instead of hiking or canoeing. In college, I took courses in Pascal, and since the rise of the web, I've taught myself to code in XHTML and CSS, and taken several courses in JavaScript, PHP, MySQL, and database design.

I enjoy designing websites, too, but often work with an artist so that I can focus on writing the code. I love the challenge of transforming a static mockup into a dynamic, functional website, and I strive to write clean, maintainable code that can be easily understood by future programmers.
